The Victorian Government has announced further support packages totalling $3 billion this week to help businesses and workers through the COVID19 pandemic and to prepare for operating under the "COVID Normal" final step in the roadmap out of lockdown.
The new round of grants offer cash to eligible businesses with payrolls up to $10 million. Businesses will receive grants of $10,000,
$15,000 or $20,000 depending on their annual payroll. Applications open this Friday 18 September.
To support bars, restaurants, pubs, clubs, hotels and reception centres, grants of between $10,000 and $30,000 for licenced venues (based on capacity and location) will be available.
The Government is also providing further relief by waiving liquor licence fees for 2021.
Payroll tax will be deferred for eligible businesses with payrolls up to $10 million for the full 2020-21 financial year.
As part of the Business Resilience Package, the government will support small businesses and sole traders with a voucher program to help them build their digital capability through off-the-shelf digital programs and workshops to adapt to online operations upon reaching COVID Normal.
Further information will be made available by Business Victoria in the coming days, but it is worth considering how this voucher program might be able to support your business; for example, do you need an online store. $87.5 million worth of grants of up to $5000 will be available to eligible Victorian businesses to support them in adapting their venue for outdoor dining. These grants will be paid to hospitality businesses with an annual payroll of less than $3 million, such as licensed and unlicensed cafés, restaurants, takeaway food businesses, pubs, taverns, bars and clubs to pay for COVIDSafe and practical outdoor dining equipment.
Through a partnership with the City of Melbourne, $30 million worth of grants will be available for small to medium businesses to adapt their spaces to allow for better flow of patrons and enable better COVIDSafe practices. This includes things such as required equipment, converting spaces like rooftops and courtyards into hospitality zones and remodelling internal layouts.
Grants of up to $3000 will be available to eligible sole traders who operate from a commercial premises or location to which the sole operator is the tenant or licensee, such as retail, accommodation and food services, creative and media, hairdressing, gyms, events, education and training.
If you require assistance with applying for any of the above grants or further information to see if your business is eligible for any of
